Carry Concealed Weapons (CCW) Initial Class
These 16 hour classes are designed to meet California Carry Concealed Weapons (CCW) program, Penal Code 26165(a), and local county requirements. In addition to the legal minimum requirements, our goal is to prepare you for the responsibility of carrying a weapon in public. The focus will be on handgun safety, legal requirements, use-of-force decision making, carry options, and reducing one’s risk. The course also covers situational awareness, warning signs, and what to avoid; ammunition and holster selection; first aid and control of blood loss, and skill development. In addition we identify and educate you on the three greatest risks you will be exposed to following a critical incident, and how to reduce those risks.
The classroom portion is typically taught over four evenings in Loomis and one range day in Lincoln.
