Handgun IV
Prerequisite is Handgun III. If you have not completed the prerequisite class, but you have prior formal training that was recent and comparable in both subject matter and duration, contact us to discuss your candidacy for this class. Your prior training will need to have been from a qualified and verifiable source that meets our school’s standards.
LEO & Military may be exempt from this prerequisite. Contact us to discuss.
This is an intensive one day course covering the tertiary skills identified to survive the majority of defensive pistol uses, while emphasizing rapid presentation from concealed carry, and balancing speed and accuracy using effective gun handling techniques designed to work under stress. This is an all-day session, starting at 8:30am.
Topics covered in this course will include:
Firearms Safety
Review of existing skills
One-handed reloading
Shoot and move
High speed accuracy at close ranges
Precision Drills at intermediate distance
Multiple target engagement
At the conclusion of this course the student should feel confident in their ability to:
rapidly and effectively engage a target at close or intermediate range,
Fixing malfunctions rapidly and reliably,
Engage multiple targets
Perform rapid reloads
Understand the use of movement and cover
All shooting will be from concealment.
What to Bring:
Quality leather or Kydex type holster and belt or duty rig
AIWB (Appendix Inside the Waist Band)
IWB (Inside the Waist Band)
OWB (Outside the Waist Band)
No shoulder, ankle or cross draw holsters
Serpa holster allowed, if disabled.
200 rounds of range ammo.
Minimum of three magazines or speed loaders
Magazine holder or pouch
Lunch (We will not be leaving the range during lunch)
Drinks (non-alcoholic)
Shooting glasses
Hearing protection
Sturdy shoes for outdoor wear
Weather appropriate clothes, including rain gear. (we train rain or shine)
