Classes are taught by owner/principal instructor Pat Symons. For over 30 years, Pat has been teaching handgun shooting and safety courses and continuing his training and education. He has extensive experience teaching individuals of all backgrounds and abilities proper handgun safety and shooting skills. Basic to Advanced Firearms Training, LLC brings together all of his experience and training in order to provide individuals with the important knowledge and experience needed to be a safe handgun owner and operator.

Born and raised in Northern California, Pat grew up around firearms and began hunting at an early age. After graduating with a BA in Criminal Justice from CSU Sacramento, Pat served as a law enforcement officer in California and Oregon. Over the years, he has competed in competitive handgun shooting contests, as well as gained substantial handgun safety experience and knowledge through advanced trainings and courses.
