Carry Concealed Weapons (CCW) Class
Description
We offer both initial CCW and refresher CCW training and qualifications classes. The initial CCW training is 16 hours long and the refresher CCW training is eight (8) hours long. The courses includes both classroom and range components. Our courses are certified for the surrounding counties, and we are rapidly expanding the list of accredited counties. CCW Initial Courses are TWO days of classroom (held Tuesday and Wednesday from 6-10pm in Loomis) AND range qualification the following weekend.
CCW Renewal Course is ONE day of classroom (held Thursday from 6-10pm in Loomis) AND range qualification the following weekend.

Goals
Our classes are designed to meet your county’s requirements, and our goal is to prepare you for the responsibility of carrying a weapon in public. The focus will be on handgun safety, legal requirements, use of force decision making, and carry options. There will be discussions on situational awareness, and whether deadly force was justified, and if the amount of deadly force employed was appropriate to the situation discussed. Upon completion students will have a better understanding of how to address a critical situation while carrying a concealed firearm.

Leather gun belt
Leather or kydex (strong –side) outside belt or inside the waistband Holster. Note: the holster MUST cover the trigger and trigger guard.

Ammunition
Ammunition must be commercially manufactured range ammo.
Course of Fire
The qualifying course of fire is determined by the county of which you are applying for a permit.
Introduction to Handguns
This class is designed for individuals that do not yet own a firearm, are considering purchasing a firearm, are not yet comfortable using a firearm, and/or are afraid of shooting but want to learn. Subjects covered include:
Basic firearms safety
Dominant eye
Every day carry accessories
Firearms safety at home
Firearms safety at the range
Handgun/caliber selection and set up
How a handgun operates
Presenting the handgun from the holster
Proper care and maintenance of handgun
Proper loading and unloading
Revolver vs semi-auto pistol
Shooting stance, grip, and trigger manipulation
Goals
Our goal is the student upon completion of this course will have a new level of comfort and appreciation for handguns. The student will have a basic understanding of: handgun safety; fundamentals of shooting; handgun handling, storage, and transportation; and proper maintenance and cleaning for revolvers and semi-automatic handguns.

Level 1 Handgun Safety
This class is designed for individuals that have limited handgun experience and want to increase their knowledge. Subjects covered include:
Basic firearms safety

Firearms safety at the range

Presenting the handgun from the holster
Proper care and maintenance of handgun
Proper loading and unloading

Level 2 Handgun Safety
This class is designed for individuals who have been through the Level 1 handgun course (or equivalent).
Prerequisite: Successful completion of a basic handgun course from BAFT or equivalent from a BAFT recognized school. Current LE/MIL exempt.
Subjects covered include:
Malfunction drills
Multiple target engagement at speed
One handed shooting, both strong and weak hand
reloading drills
Review of basics (shooting stance, grip and trigger manipulation, proper loading and unloading, presenting the handgun from the holster)
Varied distance shooting
Varied distance shooting from 1- 10 yards
Goals
Our classes are designed to teach individuals who have been through a basic pistol curse and want to transition to another level of training. We will build on the skills learned in the Level 1 class (or equivalent) and introduce the student to reloading and malfunction clearing drills, and transitioning between multiple targets while maintaining proper shooting techniques and practicing handgun safety.

Level 3 Handgun Safety
This class is designed for individuals who have been through the Level 2 handgun course (or equivalent). This is a higher-level intermediate course that will further develop the shooting skills learned in the Level 2 course.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of a level 2 handgun course from BAFT or equivalent from a BAFT recognized school. Current LE/MIL exempt.
Subjects covered include:
Malfunction clearance at speed
Multiple threat engagement
One-handed shooting - both strong and weak hand
Rapid target engagement
Review of existing skills
Shooting from 1 yard with a Speed Rock drill
Shooting on the move
Varied distance shooting from 1- 50 yards
Goals
Our classes are designed to build on the skills learned in the Level 2 class (or equivalent) to further develop shooting skills. This is a higher-level intermediate course that emphasizes safety while balancing speed and accuracy. The student will develop a higher level of shooting proficiency and an appreciation for the challenges of engaging multiple targets at speed and at different distances, long distance shooting at speed and transitioning from strong to weak hand when applicable.

Low-light (Night) Shooting
Low-light shooting will be introduced in this class using independent flashlight techniques and optional weapon mounted lights.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of a level 2 handgun course from BAFT or equivalent from a BAFT recognized school. Current LE/MIL exempt.
Subjects covered include:
Handheld flashlights
Low level light shooting
Night time shooting
Rapid target engagement
Review of existing skills
Malfunction clearance at speed
Multiple threat engagement
One-handed shooting - both strong and weak hand
Presenting the handgun from the holster
Proper loading and unloading
Shooting stance, grip and trigger manipulation
Shooting on the move
Varied distance shooting from 3 - 20 yards
Weapon mounted flashlights
Goals
Our classes are designed to provide students with using independent flashlight techniques and optional weapons-mounted lights. We will also build on the skills learned in the Level 2 class (or equivalent) to further develop shooting skills. This is a higher-level intermediate course that emphasizes safety while balancing speed and accuracy.
